Biography/Personal Statement
Just a little something about me, my name is
Jason, I’m 30. Born and raised in
Nutley
,
N.J.
Picked up my first substance at the age of 17. Finally, the shy,
insecure boy felt important! I finished High School, and was free. Now
it was time to see how good it could get. Well, at 21 I traded in the
small party drugs for the more serious ones, I found cocaine and fell
in love with it, got married to, and then divorced coke after meeting
heroin. Age 22 was homeless, started my vicious rehab cycle, in and
out, in and out. Two years later I was introduced to the rooms of A.
A. I managed to put up a little over 2 years without a drink or
a drug. I gave it all up one night for a cold beer. What a mistake
that was. That drink led me right back to the drug. Then I put
together a year. Gave that clean time up after a doctor told me I had
cancer and I wasn’t willing to accept it and deal with my feelings.
It was easier for me to just numb my pain and be left alone. Now I’m
back, ready to fight my disease of addiction, and my cancer, with an
open mind and an honest heart. I’m in the best place possible right
now. Tabor house is something special. If you don’t have
spirituality, you will find it here. If no one loves you, they will
here. Thank you for taking time to read my biography (the compressed
version),
