 | Biography/Personal Statement
My story is not so different from man other peoples in recovery yet it
is MY STORY.
I was born in Philly and spent my childhood in Tabernacle, New
Jersey and as I remember it was a normal, basic upbringing. I had all
the usual hobbies, sports, music and hanging out with friends. I
started experimenting with drugs in my early teens and found it to be
a slow but steadily progressive path to the destruction of my life.
It has been a struggle for the past few years even though I knew I had
this terrible affliction of addiction. In the process of trying to
conquer this disease there have been good times and bad, but I had not
been able to stay stopped until my children were born. Marissa is 6
yrs old and Kayla, 1yr old, my love for them is indescribable. This
time I have found a reliance on Gods love for me and have turned to
Him. I practice a faith today and am managing to stay stopped one day
at a time.
By giving sobriety and myself a chance I know I can be the father I am
supposed to be and the father that my girls deserve to have. I am
happy to be at Tabor surrounded by guys who want the same kind of
things and am hopeful of building that foundation for a clean and
sober life.
